CAMBOHUN 2019 One Health in action
With support of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), on 21st May 2019 the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) in collaboration with Cambodia One Health University Network (CAMBOHUN) university members include Preak Leap National College of Agriculture (PNCA), University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Royal University of Agriculture (RUA) organize half-day session to raise awareness of the One Health knowledge and issues for 37 multidisciplinary students and to orient them on how to apply Participatory Epidemiology tools for survey in following day in the field. We gratefully thanks for Dr. Pheng Vutha, Deputy Director, PNCA and CAMBOHUN coordinator for welcoming remarks, Dr. Venn Vutey, Vice-Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, RUA for sharing his experiences and six national facilitators from CAMBOHUN university members and two regional facilitators from Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen Universities who help co-facilitate the session.
Following orientation session for CAMBOHUN students to apply Participatory Epidemiology tools (PE) in the field on 22nd May 2019, four-small group multidisciplinary students, with support of regional and national facilitators, use the tools learned to study food safety at two markets in Kep province. Students collaboratively discussed, worked as team and shared their perspectives on what they found with other students and proposed some solutions to address the food safety.
